Step out of today’s hustle, and stay for a moment among trees flourishing in ancient woods of oak and larch, where majestic hornbeams range the banks of a meandering stream, where the forest floor erupts with bluebells each spring, and orchids abound all summer long.

Our venue provides a unique space for all couples to express their love, cradled in nature while surrounded by family and friends, whether gathered to enjoy an unforgettable wedding blessing, humanist celebration, reaffirmation ceremony, or any other occasion that simply deserves to be special.

Here, the ancient woodlands’ natural wonders, protected by our Environmental Sustainabililty Governance policy, bring a true sense of enchantment, as the sun reaches between tall pines, oaks and larch, and dappled shade drifts and flickers in gentle breezes that whisper just beneath the unbroken song of birds,.

Wander together along the forest trail, celebrate with ceremonies under the steamed wooden arch, dine around curving tables carved from timber cut in these coppices, covered by fetching canvas canopies strung for shelter from the branches above, then gather about the fire pit as the sun sinks gently through the trees.

The Woodland Centre provides a beautiful backdrop, one that could only have been created by nature, abiding undisturbed.

If you choose, you can rely on us to arrange the catering for your event from our range of excellent locally-sourced producers, who come to cater and serve you onsite, utilising the excellent facilities available here in our award-winning timber-frame Woodland Centre building. There’s a licensed bar on the premises, and a charming horse-box cocktail bar can also be arranged onsite to offer refreshments alfresco.

Dine outdoors at rustic placings set around timber tables, specially designed to create an atmosphere of intimacy – or inside, below the impressive arched timber vault of the main hall. Whatever you choose, we can provide the facilities to accommodate your event, and ensure a truly special day.

Once you lose yourself within the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding woods, it’s easy to forget how conveniently situated The Woodland Centre actually is.

We’re located less than an hour south of London, tucked away from the world, yet easily reached via the main A21 road running to the East Sussex coast. The nearest station is just six miles away, with a regular train service travelling to and from Charing Cross. And thanks to our location you’ll find ample parking once you arrive here.
